A proprietary "alarm clock" app can set off multiple alarms and also provides weather and traffic updates. The front of the unit has a camera, so video calling is also possible when on a Wi-Fi network. The Home Connect has 4GB of internal storage, though this can be expanded with SD cards up to a total of 20GB (with 16GB card). It plays FLAC, OGG, WAV and MP3 files, as well as most common video formats. Playback can be fed through the integrated speakers or a 3.5mm headphone jack. Since this radio is compatible with most Android apps, it can also be used for games or other utilities. Portability is another main feature, since the Home Connect uses a rechargeable battery pack.
