This amplifier is fully discrete, to accomodate its high current design. The XPA-1 is dual differential, with a signal to noise ratio of 1 watt <89db/full power <117db, which means that distortion will not occur because of high volume. The Darlington VAS stage also helps with cutting down the noise. With its True Differential Reference design, this amplifier is made to give accurate readings of audio levels, so that you can fine-tune your settings. The advanced microprocessor operating system helps to ensure that you will get exact EQ information. The high resolution LED metering lets you know visually where the levels are at. The power output of the XPA-1 is 500 watts RMS into 8ohms, and 1,000 watts RMS into 4ohms. The power switch of this amplifier is soft touch. Thanks to the LED metering feature and True Differential Reference design, this amplifier differs from the lower cost XPA-2 and XPA-5 amplifier models. Like the rest of the amplifiers in this product line, the Emotiva XPA-1 is fully protected from all fault conditions.
