Eton FR500 Solarlink

$80.00 Released October, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Rugged build can handle being tossed in the trunk with other equipment. Reasonably light, don't really notice much weight carrying it around. Reliable operation for years at a time, won't develop defects.

The Cons:Need to test it right away, some quality control issues result in units that just don't work. Need to ensure that the multi-function knob isn't on Alert or the radio reception will be poor.

The Eton FR500 Solarlink is an AM/FMNOAA/SW/WX all-in-one radio that is considered perfect for any outdoor adventurer. Essentially an upgrade from the FR150, the FR500 shares the AM/FMNOA/WX and solar capability of its counterpart, but also adds SX frequency reception, a flashing beacon, an emergency siren, and an alarm clock.
