It has 2GB total, translating to about 1150 hours of recording time. All other features are the same, including slow- and fast-playback modes, index reference points in recordings, LCD display and voice activated recording. Voice activation saves time (on the recorder) and battery life by minimizing unnecessary periods of silence. There are also three recording modes that alter quality and also affect the size of files, therefore also total recording capacity. This recorder requires two AAA batteries, included. It has 3.5mm microphone and headphone jacks, and a 28mm speaker for portable playback. The larger memory capacity gives this version a higher starting price than the VN-7100.
